Our History

...was Luciano Fantin and his big, American Dream. Born in Forcella, Italty, Lou came to Pittsburgh in 1957. He met his bride the next year, and began to work with his Old World skill: tile, terrazzo, and stonework. Once comfortable with his new home and language, Lou started his own commercial hard flooring business, Fantin Flooring, in 1965. 

During those early years, he ran his business from his Regent Square home. Eventually, he needed more space and bought the Rankin location. In 2019, the business expanded and moved to the new Carrick site. 

Over the last 55 years, Fantin Flooring has seen many changes. In 1998, Lou retired and passed his knowledge and his business to his son Michael. This family business is still run by Michael with his wife as Office Manager/Bookkeeper and his daughter as Assistant Office Manager.
